My interest in art began at a very early age – I could draw before I could write my own name.

I lived in a house in Brooklyn, NY with my family.  My Dad was a carpenter and his shop was located in the basement of our home.  Always being allowed to work with him as he drew up plans for customers gave me a lot of ideas.  I used to work with hammers, screw drivers, table top saws and more when I approached making sculptures. Painting was even more exciting when I combined paint, paper scraps, screws, and wire with various materials.  My classroom teachers marveled at the gifts I often brought them.

At age 12, my family moved to New Rochelle, NY where we lived in a lovely house and neighborhood.  My first reaction to seeing so many trees, grass and flowers evoked a spirit within to create paintings non-stop.  I had so much creative energy that it gave me daily happiness.  So, I became a driven person always discovering ways to design different experiences from school, politics and sports.  I also became a super jock staying after school to participate several sports.  My life’s journey pushed me to examine my inner feelings on canvas.

At New Rochelle High School and later in college, I was ready to learn about various art techniques in drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture.  I was fascinated about how religion played in the lives of the artists in my art history classes.  Thus, I took 9 credits in religion: Old Testament, New Testament and Religions of the World.

Today, I embrace my artwork with a strong religious component.  My faith gives me purpose.  I look for ways to explore the environment by going deeper in using shape, color, organic and inorganic forms as a basis of a whole composition.  Lithography, etching, water color, pen and ink are the connective elements in my artwork.  Airbrushing forms on Plexiglas further gives each painting a three dimensional look on a two-dimensional surface.  I have been able to grow, explore, and be more to do more.  Art is my life.
